A SENSE OF HISTORY...
FOLK, a grassroots organization, formed in 1978 to petition Harris County for the Kingwood Branch Library and to raise funds for the library, dedicated in 1983.
FOLK promotes the cause of the library in the community through the following ways:
- Sponsoring fundraising events and cultural activities
- Purchasing supplies deemed by the board to enhance the overall quality of the library
- Focusing public attention on library services, facilities and needs
- Stimulating gifts of books, magazines, desirable collections, endowments and bequests
A strong volunteer program continues to help the library with the used book store, which opened in April 2010, online book sales and children's programs. Gifts to FOLK, a 501(c)(3) organization, are tax deductible. |

The Dragoneers Club holds its first meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 9 at 4:00 p.m. in the new activities room in the children’s library on the first floor of the new Kingwood Library. (more)
